Hello everyone! It's BaneOfNyarlathotep here, bringing you some more comic news!
A few new strips have come out since we last talked, including today's shocking one. A Revelation of Glaaki, if you will. I've slowed down a bit in the creation of comic strips, but that was mainly due to two things. One, I was on vacation for a few days, and two, I've been working on a secondary Mythos project that is somewhat linked to this comic. It's going to be an informational video about different Mythos characters for beginners to the whole thing, illustrated and voiced over by yours truly. Hopefully it'll not only bring a few more people here, but it'll help people who want to get more into the Mythos but haven't bothered with annoying, long articles and overwhelming lists of Old Ones, most of which might have appeared in one story by some other author, half of which aren't even acknowledged or very good. Yes, Wikipedia, I'm talking to you.
The story's about to get really dramatic, so stay tuned for more.
Well, here we go.
It's been three days since I launched the comic, and there's already eight issues. I'm kind-of pleased with that, but if I want to make a popular webcomic, I have to keep pumping these out.
I made this webcomic for a few reasons. One, the idea has been running around in my head for a while, and I've been wanting to see if it would work as a comic, rather than a video series like I had originally invisioned it. So far, it's working pretty good. Two, I'm dying for an excuse to not only draw Cthulhu creatures and entities, but I've also been wanting to make Mythos merchandise for a while, and having a webcomic with characters people can relate to on not only their classic Mythos status, but as well as on a level that I introduced to them is a great way to do this (and I plan on making some pretty cool merchandise if/when this takes off). Three, I want to introduce people to the Cthulhu Mythos that haven't heard of it before, because it's quickly become a huge part of my life and one of my new fanatic obsessions. Four, because I thrive on the art of making obscure references, and those who already understand the Cthulhu Mythos (though honestly I prefer Lovecraft's "Yog-Sothothery" due to my favoritism of Yog-Sothoth as an entity) should be basking in those after reading any of my comic strips. Five, because I want to share my humor with other people and hopefully make them smile.
Wow, that seems like a lot more than a few reasons, but I guess I'm just rambling so this blog post isn't empty. Expect more in the lives of your favorite Great Old Ones fairly soon!
